In addition to its connection to Sedrun and Andermatt, Disentis is also part of an even larger skiing region – the Surselva. The Surselva encompasses seven ski areas totalling 70 lifts and 600 linear km (370 miles) of marked pistes. For only a small increase in cost over our regular lift pass, you can access the entire Surselva with a single ski ticket. A seven-day Surselva pass entitles you to unlimited skiing at six of the seven ski areas, and one day at the enormous Flims-Laax interconnected ski resort.

European piste maps tend to make ski areas and their accessible terrain look rather small and often uninteresting. In fact, the “smallest” of the Surselva ski areas, Vals, has only four significant lifts yet offers an astounding 1,746 metres (nearly 5,700 feet) of vertical drop. This is more than any ski area in North or South America and puts Vals in the top 10 percent of all ski areas in the Alps for vertical rise. Vals offers truly superb and incredibly long fall-line cruising. The ski area also accesses several first-class, peak-to-valley off-piste descents. Plus, Vals has some of Switzerland’s most luxuriant thermal baths.

Flims/Laax/Falera, meanwhile, is one of the largest ski resorts in Switzerland, while Brigels and Obersaxen offer many miles of pleasant intermediate cruising in a mix of sun-drenched and sheltered below-treeline runs.
