We have some wonderful and well-maintained trails for cross-country skiing. This is civilized Nordic skiing, with restrooms located at most trails plus, in some locations, changing rooms with lockers.
The 18.5-km-long (11.5 mile) Cadi trail starts right in Disentis and leads down to Trun, dropping a net 300 vertical meters (1,000 feet) as it passes through lovely valley scenery. You can return by train, or do the round-trip loop with its 300 meters (1,000 feet) of net vertical gain, for an impressive total of 37 km (23 miles).
Down in Trun, there is 5.6 km (2.9 miles) of cross-country trail lit for night skiing.
In Sedrun, a 12 km (7.5 mile) loop offers a moderate-length intermediate outing, with total vertical (climb and drop) of 221 meters (725 feet) in a sheltered valley setting.
