This will be a blog entry with few words. Very simply: the snow is here! We’ve had more than 20 cm right outside the building, we’ve had to shovel snow three times and the upper lifts in Sedrun and Andermatt have been closed due to this very welcome blizzard. Accumulations up high will be several times the recorded snowfall down here due to the north winds.

The Swiss Avalanche Institute forecasts another 20-40 cm tonight, followed by a break in the weather tomorrow.

I don’t need to add adjectives here as to how the skiing will be tomorrow. We will check it out tomorrow and report.

A further small round of snowfall is forecast for late in the weekend, followed by a second serious storm around Tuesday. Believe it!

Still some available accommodation in January. Check out our mid-winter Freeriders’ Special.
